Now, more than ever, Habersham Medical Center needs this community. And this community needs Habersham Medical Center (HMC). As the coronavirus (COVID-19) sweeps across the United States and confirmed cases continue to escalate in Georgia, Habersham Medical Center stands ready.

Every staff member of this hospital has not stopped going above and beyond the call of duty to care for our patients and protect each other during these unprecedented times.

However, we are starting to feel the true impact of this massive pandemic.

Nationwide, hospitals are experiencing severe shortages of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as medical grade face masks, gloves and gowns. There are disruptions in our elective surgeries causing significant financial impact. And then there are the unknowns…

Despite these challenges, HMC is on the frontlines in the fight against COVID-19.

Many of our dedicated employees are your friends, neighbors and loved ones. Today, we are asking you to…

Help your friends. Help your neighbors. Help your loved ones. Help our hometown hospital. Help keep #HABERSHAMSTRONG.

You can help support HMC in four ways:

Donated dollars will be used to address the hospital’s most pressing priorities including coronavirus COVID-19 Response Efforts.

Habersham Home (HH) is HMC’s 84-bed skilled nursing facility. In an effort to lower the risk of exposure to the coronavirus among HH residents who are particularly vulnerable to infection, HMC adopted a “No Visitors” Stance for all HH residents. This means no outside visitors will be permitted to see residents of the nursing home.

Donating a new tablet (i.e. iPad™, Android™) to Habersham Home will enable our staff to arrange “virtual visits” between HH residents and their loved ones.

We’re often asked by patients and their families how can they express their gratitude and appreciation for care they received at Habersham Medical Center.

The Tell Us Your Story Program was established to allow grateful patients and their friends and families to formally recognize a special doctor or nurse, an entire department or a clinical program that played a special role in their care.

You can also make a tax-deductible donation in recognition of an HMC healthcare team or caregiver(s). They will receive a special notification of your gratitude and support.

In these uncertain and unprecedented times, our community is banding together to combat the threat of COVID-19.

Many people have asked about providing much-needed supplies. If you would like to support our work—in an amount of any size—toward this effort by creating an I-CARE Package, there are a number of products we need, especially face masks and personal protective equipment.
