Position: RN Supervisor, Outpatient Surgery
Department: Outpatient Surgery
Job Description: Provides coordination of outpatient surgical services for patient population, with responsibility for the distribution of patient care. Provides mentorship, support and guidance to the staff members of the department. Coordinates staffing, identifies educational needs and facilitates departmental meetings and the dissemination of hospital information. Provides a positive role model for department. Works under the direction of the Surgical Services Manager. Acts as a liaison between patient, family, staff, and physician. Assures that the department’s image is reflective of HMC’s Mission, Vision, and I-CARE Values. Functions in a clinical role as indicated and adheres to staff nurse role.
Licensure or other Certifications: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current Georgia Rn license. BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years clinical experience in an outpatient setting, ICU or PACU caring for patients from infancy through geriatric. Leadership or Charge Nurse experience. Working knowledge of Standards of Care for Outpatient Surgery, DNV, and ASPAN. Working knowledge of word processing and hospital electronic medical record systems.
