Position: RN Manager
Department: Surgical Services
Job Description: Registered Nurse who provides leadership and guidance for the surgical services employees, promoting a smooth, efficiently run service, while maintaining standards of professional nursing. Assumes administrative responsibility for all functions in the operating room, post anesthesia care unit, outpatient surgery unit, central sterile, and endoscopy lab. Supervises all personnel assigned to these areas and evaluates the quality of nursing care provided to patients in these areas. Coordinates staffing identifies educational needs and facilitates departmental meetings and the dissemination of hospital information. Provides a positive role model for the department. Works cooperatively with the staff, physicians, and anesthesia. Acts as a liaison between patient, family, staff, and physician. Functions in a clinical role as indicated. Ability to assist in meeting the care needs of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, obstetric, rehabilitation, and skilled-nursing patients.
Requirements: Graduation from an accredited RN program with license to practice nursing in the State of Georgia. CNOR Certification preferred. BCLS, ACLS and PALS certifications required.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in an operating room, with progressive management responsibilities. Leadership or management experience required.
