DEMOREST, Ga. – Ninety-four golfers and numerous other volunteers and supporters showed their support of Habersham Medical Center during the eleventh annual HealthLinks Golf Tournament held on September 21st at The Orchard Golf and Country Club.
The event raised $57,387.50 and major corporate sponsors included the Habersham Medical Center Auxiliary, Covenant Emergency Physicians, Jim Garner, Habersham OB/GYN (Dr. Thomas Hatchett and Dr. Katherine Frizzell), Dr. Jim Hamilton, McCarthy Building Companies, Northeast Georgia Health System, Inc., QHR (Quorum Health Resources), MedBridge Home Medical, Duplicating Products/Savin and United Hospice.
First place honors went to Dr. Joshua Garrett’s team. Players were Dr. Josh Garrett, Derrick Shaw, Bo Washington and Drew Jones.
Finishing in second place was the Morgan Keegan team with players Ken Johnson, Larry Porter, Chrissy Laws and Charlie Laws.
The London Brothers’ Farm team won third place with players Jake London, Joey London, Roger Dean and Matt Pilgrim.
Closest-to-the-pin honors went to Larry McFarlin of TriCounty Machines Physicians and the longest drive award went to Larry Porter, who played on the Morgan Keegan team.
The $1,000 raffle ticket winner was Ryan Chitwood.
Proceeds from the golf tournament will be used to purchase a new and innovative BabyMatch® Infant Abduction Prevention System for the Habersham Medical Center Family Birth Center.
