Total Fitness Exercise Facility |  | More than 13.5 million Americans are affected by coronary artery disease, and it is estimated that one million Americans will have a heart attack this year. In response to the high percentage of cardiovascular disease in our society, Habersham Medical Center provides a comprehensive three-phase cardiac rehabilitation program designed to increase heart health and general wellness. Medicare covers this intervention when the following diagnoses are established:
- Heart or Heart-Lung Transplant
- Stable Angina
- Acute Myocardial Infarction
- Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery
- PTCA or Coronary Stenting
- Heart Valve Repair/Replacement
Our interdisciplinary team of professionals work together to provide patients with a comprehensive treatment plan. The cardiac rehab staff members are registered nurses and our program maintains certification by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR). In addition, the following professionals are also involved in the Cardiac Rehab program:

- Counseling Services (Medicare covered)

Habersham Medical Center's Cardiac Rehab volleyball team has won numerous state, national and international championships including participation in the Heart and Lung Games and World Heart Games.

Pulmonary Rehabilitation
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), including emphysema, chronic bronchitis and asthma, is the most common respiratory disease in the United States. Pulmonary Rehab is coordinated by qualified medical personnel and consists of 36 one-hour sessions as well as education classes.
